Abstract
Virtual space is becoming a site of narrative in contemporary literature. Using the debut novel Vor der Zunahme der Zeichen by Senthuran Varatharajah, a German writer of Sri Lankan origin, as an example, we discuss what kind of relationships that can be built in a new community the protagonists bring up during their narratives.
