Abstract
The report recapitulates the proceedings of the section Exile, Migration, Flight and Expulsion, Old and New Wars - Literary Topoi of the 20th and 21st Centuries at the IVG Congress in Palermo on 27–30 July 2021. After problematising the concepts of migrant and exile literature and highlighting the refugee figure as their key figure, individual contributions are critically examined with the conclusion on the potential of literature to accommodate important civilisational developments as corrective measures.
