Vol. 9 (2024): The Literature (of the) “now.” Interventions, Trends and Revisions
Literature (of the) ‘now.’ Interventions, Trends and Revisions (eds. Michał Kisiel, Anna Majkiewicz, Częstochowa 2024) is the ninth issue of the journal "Transfer. Reception Studies", which attempts to answer the research question of what languages are spoken in literature, but also in literary studies, today. This question, which is central to reflections on reception and reading reception, is pursued in the scholarly articles that make up the three thematic segments: interventions, trends and revisions. Interventions include innovative and unconventional solutions: these are pioneering interpretations, but also counter-interpretations that contest the status quo, whether in the space of the field of literature or literary studies. Trends indicate a path of systematised innovation, but also a mapping of the now: contemporary methodologies, but also current trends and conventions. Revisions involve practices of modernisation: they are attempts to look at past trends and perspectives from a contemporary point of view. The aim behind this issue was thus to create a possible variety of: 1) a space for dialogue between contemporary narratives of literary theory and criticism; and 2) a cartography of literary trends and conventions relevant to Polish, English- and German-language literatures in the original and in translation.
